An environment of NRG was created, not by just one person, but rather by one man (John Hanley), a bar staff, social cliques, and, most importantly, the DJs that played there.
NRG was perhaps the most influential bar of the 80’s because it was the crossover club that took what was happening in the New Wave teen scene and the Number’s scene and made it accessible to the masses without losing it’s edge or originality.
Those fortunate to have lived the NRG experience will want to feel it again and those that want to experience the sounds for the first time… now is your chance. NRG was a truly trans-formative experience every weekend.
Michael DeGrace and Bill Tarabula are happily retired but NRG Dj Lane Lewis is looking forward to jumping back behind the turntables!
